Statistical Research
Numerous studies, publications and reports prepared in Poland and abroad on the Polish fuel and energy sector cite the Energy Market Agency (ARE) as the source of the information presented. Data on the functioning of the energy industries, in almost all of their aspects, have been collected, processed and published by our company since its inception.
These activities are based on statistical surveys carried out by us on behalf of the Ministry of Energy (previously the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Economy and Labour, and the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Social Policy). These surveys are conducted by the minister responsible for energy, the President of Statistics Poland (GUS) and the President of the Energy Regulatory Office (URE). Full information on each statistical survey is contained in the Programme of Statistical Surveys of Official Statistics (PBSSP), which is established annually by the Council of Ministers by way of a regulation (the draft PBSSP is drawn up by the Statistics Council on the basis of a proposal prepared by the President of GUS; the Statistics Council submits the draft PBSSP to the Council of Ministers; the Statistics Council submits the draft PBSSP to the Council of Ministers no later than 30 June each year).
In addition to the energy industries, the surveys cover a vast and growing group of fuel and energy consumers, including industrial enterprises, service and trade businesses, and households.
From defining the scope of the surveys and organising their execution, through data collection, verification and processing, to the preparation of output information, we provide reliable information to all interested parties. It is made available in the form of publications and individual studies in print or electronic form, as well as online reports.
The Agency's many years of experience in statistical surveys allow us to state that they are carried out by a team of top-class experts in both statistics and the fuel and energy economy. At the same time, all quality and security requirements imposed on this type of work by European Union and national law are met.
The efforts of the Energy Market Agency in this field have been recognised with the Honorary Badge for Merit to Polish Statistics, awarded on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of Statistics Poland (GUS), whose President is the central government administration body competent for statistics. The standard outputs of the statistical surveys carried out by ARE are:

- data published by international organisations – EUROSTAT, the statistical office of the European Union, and the International Energy Agency.
In addition to surveys conducted within official statistics, we also carry out custom surveys tailored to the needs and requirements of the client. Drawing on our knowledge and long-standing experience in this area, we provide our clients with information that is not available from publicly accessible sources.
