✍ OBJECTIVE AND SCOPE
The main objective of the training is to present participants with the current provisions (and pending amendments) of the Energy Law Act, the most important piece of legislation governing the broadly understood energy sector (electricity, gas fuels, heat) in Poland.
The training also aims to provide participants with answers to key questions regarding navigation of the energy market, a complex regulated industry.
The training aims to identify the most important categories and obligations arising from the provisions of the Act (licensing, grid connection, energy contracts).
A key objective of the training is to convey knowledge and teach participants the application of best practices in the management of energy carriers.

✍ PROGRAMME
1. Characteristics of the energy market in Poland.
2. The Polish energy market and EU law guidelines (regulations).
3. Energy Law Act: objectives of the Act, key definitions.
4. Licence as a condition for operating as an energy company (high penalties for non-compliance)
5. Tariff and the regulation on tariffs in energy trading.
6. Energy certificates (the obligation of so-called energy "colouring" – high penalties for non-compliance)
7. Mandatory energy reserves, including Demand Side Response – DSR (opportunity for additional revenue in exchange for readiness to reduce power consumption)
8. General principles for concluding or terminating contracts with market participants, using energy contracts as an example, including special treatment of consumers.
9. Types of contracts:
- Connection agreement, including grid connection conditions and pending changes in this regard, i.e. cable pooling, deposits, simplifications in procedures, changes in deadlines
- Distribution agreement
- Sale agreement and comprehensive agreement
10. The right to change supplier – consumers and other entities (including the role of CSIRE in accelerating the process).
11. Control powers of energy companies, suspension of supply, complaints, granting discounts
12. The role and responsibilities of the President of URE in the context of the rights and obligations of energy companies.
13. Overview of planned amendments.

Joanna Grabowska – MBA in Energy Management, Economist
Former long-term employee of URE, currently an expert in the electricity, gas and heat sectors; within the framework of her business activity, she supports obligated entities in fulfilling their obligations under energy law (licences, tariffs, energy certificates, contractual provisions, grid connections and others).
Trainer: conducts internal and external training, including in the field of energy law and its implications for cooperating entities and other participants.
Advisor in the field of investments in PV installations/farms, wind turbines, and the construction of CHP sources on land and at facilities belonging to entities, energy companies, as well as municipalities and communes.
